Team Profile:

The Keller Race Team is based in Irwin, PA near Greensburg, PA. The hometrack is Pittsburgh Raceway Park (the old Keystone Raceway) in New Alexandria, PA.

Bill has been riding for over 40 years. Although he has ridden Harleys and Indians, he keeps coming back to Triumphs. According to Bill, "Triumphs are light and manuverable. And quick for their size. The only thing I miss is CUBIC INCHES!"

Bill is also currently looking for a new "crew chief". Pay is non-existent but the fringe benefits are many. Use any of the "Contact Us" links to apply for the job.

Race Vehicle Description:

Bill uses a 1971 Triumph TR6. It started life as a stock 650 and it now has a Morgo 750 kit on it. It uses a dual fire coil with stock ignition components. A conversion to original single fire is anticipated soon. A stock Amal carb is currently being used with a 36 mm Mikuni waiting in the wings. Also some experimentation with a Posa fuel injector recently acquired is in the offing.

Suppliers Used:

Bill uses Barnett cables and clutch components exclusively. They use Sunoco Cam2 gasoline. NGK platinum plugs are also used exclusively.

Sponsors Wanted:

We are looking for valve and valve train components (Kibblewhite preferred). Cam wise, we are looking for some Megacycle options. Also a carb upgrade would be nice. High performance ignition wires and coils.

As of October 2009, some major changes are being made in the Keller Racing drag bike. Below are some pictures detailing those changes and brief descriptions.

Rear sets - left side Rear sets - right side

These two pictures show the conversion from stock mid-controls to hand-fabricated rear sets. One of the consistent problems that had previously occurred was hitting false neutrals during shifts. This was mainly due to the ergonomics of the low seat and the stock mid-controls. These rear-sets should negate that problem.

Overall rear view New Ace or Clubman handlebars

These two pictures show the conversion to the Ace or Clubman handlebars. These bars will force me to lean forward putting more weight on the front and ,hopefully, keep wheelies to a minimum. You will also note the change to an electronic tach. The bike will need to be rewired to negative ground as most early British bikes are positive ground.
